I just tried my first Laura Mercier Lip Glacé and I must say that I like it! The packaging is pretty, the formula, although a little sticky, is not too sticky and it smells divine, like spun sugar. YUM!
I was so excited when I saw that Laura Mercier put their famous tinted moisturizer into a compact. My cousin and I ran right out to Sephora and got a couple. I love the theory of such a portable moisturizer, but it didn’t pan out for me in the end:(
The moisturizer has an spf 20. The compact is a little bulky, but not horribly so. It sort of reminds me of the Physician’s Formula blush and bronzer packaging. It comes with a sponge that lives in the hidden compartment underneath the product.
I did not like the the tinted moisturizer, but my cousin did, so I will start out with the fact that this is one of those products that may not be a slam dunk either way as far as “its fab” or “it sucks”. I found that it sat on my face, she admitted that she felt it, but liked that it felt “velvety” on her face. I don’t want to feel tinted moisturizer on my face. If its full coverage foundation that’s fine and dandy, but tinted moisturizer is a “no way, I don’t want to feel it” kind of thing for me. I draw the line in the sand with feeling my moisturizer after its applied. I tried the application several times with the sponge, but no matter how much or how little product I used, it sat on my face. I did not think to try it with a stippling brush, maybe that would have worked better than the sponge. At any rate, with the price point in the mid $40’s, I don’t want to work too hard to make it work or me.
I returned mine, my cousin kept hers. We still love each other and agree to disagree. LOL
So, hove you tried this product? I would love to hear your views on this tinted moisturizer. We need a tie breaker here!!
I purchased these products myself and as always these are my own, honest opinions.
Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer has a huge following. That’s why I was so interested when I saw it in compact form at Sephora. I had to pick it up right away and give it a go.
The compact has a good weight to it and a nice mirror. It has a bulkier package, which reminds me of Physician’s Formula compact packaging. I would have liked it to be a little sleeker, but its not horribly cumbersome either. It has a compartment underneath the mositurizer that holds a nice applicator sponge. This is a great concept for traveling with a tinted moisturizer, although I’m slightly concerned that it could melt if left in a hot car on a summer day.
The product itself feels velvety to the touch. The biggest problem with this is that you can feel it after you apply it to the skin. Its moistuizing, but feels like it sits on top your skin. I could feel it all day. It has little to no coverage, which I expect from a tinted moisturizer. My main gripe is that I don’t expect to be able to feel a tinted moisturizer on my skin. For this reason this was a fail for me.
Have you tried it? If so, what did you think?

Hi guys. Thanks for stopping by. I had a request for a review on the Laura Mercier Pressed Powder Mineral Foundation. It has a matte finish, as opposed to the Laura Mercier Loose Powder Mineral Foundation, which has more of a subtle glow to it. They are both very pretty with buildable coverage. The thing that sold me on the pressed, versus the loose powder was packaging. Its easy to throw the pressed in my bag and go. Its very travel friendly. Both the loose and the pressed are lovely though.
Another thing that I like about this powder is that it doesn’t sting or itch my face. For whatever reason, Bare Minerals irritates me to no end. I can’t stand it and feel absolutely miserable due to the itching and stinging when I’m wearing it. If you like the concept of mineral makeup, but Bare Minerals irritates your skin, you might give the Laura Mercier a try.
Have you tried the pressed or loose powder? If so, what was your experience with it? I’d love to know.

Laura Mercier has released a new Eye and Cheek Palette for Spring of 2012. This is a limited edition product and a Sephora exclusive. It includes six eye shadows and two blushes. For $60 its a really good deal. I’m in love!
The blushes are beautiful and the eye shadows are too. They blend well. The right side of the palette is more purple based, while the left side is more neutral. The eyes shadows include matte and shimmer finishes.
The eye shadow shades are in Buff Pearl, Tawny Apricot, Rich Cocoa, Pale Pink, African Violet and Black Plum. The cheek colors included are Rose Desire and Fresh Peach.
Are you planning on getting this palette. Let me know!
