Maybelline Leather Color Tattoos Review and Swatches

Maybelline’s new color tattoos have landed.  The new collection is matte and is dubbed “Leather Color Tattoos”. They are releasing these as part of their Fall 2014 collection.

They come in 5 colors including Chocolate Suede, Dramatic Black, Vintage Plum, Deep Forest and Creamy Beige.

Im not sure as to whether or not these will be part of the permanent Maybelline Color Tattoo line. There is no indication on the packaging to make one think that these are limited edition items so hopefully they are part of the permanent line!! You can get them now here.

Maybelline Volum’ Express The Falsies Big Eyes Mascara Review and Swatches

I’m loving Maybelline Volum’ Express Big Eyes Mascara. I’ve given it a whirl so I could review it for you so the packaging looks a little wonky. Sorry about that.  I didn’t take a picture of it before I tore it open.

Maybelline Color Goes Electric Collection Colorsensational Lipstick Swatches (Limited Edition for Spring 2013)

Maybelline has released four Colorsensational Vivids limited edition lipsticks in their Color Goes Electric Collection for Spring 2013.  I picked up two of the four and wanted to share swatches with you in case you are interested in snatching up some of these beautiful, bright lipsticks.

I got Pop of Cherry and Electric Fuchsia.

Maybelline Rocket Volum’Express Mascara Review

Ok, I’m not going to lie, I’m going to tell you straight out that the blue tube with pink writing on it forced me to buy this mascara and give it a try.  I think this is the prettiest mascara packaging!  I love blue and pink together.

Maybelline claims “Now, the most explosive, beautiful lashes ever!
Supersonic Brush, and Fast Glide formula Loads on big, sleek volume instantly”  They say we will “love it” because it will give us “8X Bigger. Smoother. Even” lashes with “zero clumps”.

Review: Maybelline BB Cream Sheer Tint 8 in 1 Skin Perfector

I picked up some Maybelline BB Cream.  If you read my blog regularly or watch me on Youtube you know that I’m interested in BB creams.  I’m also a Maybelline fan so of course I was excited to try this.

They had a tester in the store so I was able to pick my shade easily.  I really appreciate a tester, don’t you?  I got the shade light/medium.  I’m an NC 20, if that helps.  The next time I may get the light shade though.  Its such a sheer color that it really doesn’t matter all that much.

Here is what Maybelline says about it:

“Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream Sheer Tint 8-In-1 Skin Perfector is the one-step wonder for good skin everyday. Get eight skin benefits in one simple step: blurs imperfections, brightens, evens skin tone, smoothes, hydrates, enhances and protects with SPF 30.”

This is a good basic moisturizer. Its oil free and gives sheer coverage.  It’s also got an SPF 30, which I appreciate.  It blurs imperfections as much as any other tinted moisturizer.  It evens the skin tone some, but if you have anything that you need to cover, you will need concealer.  If your skin is really uneven you will still need foundation.  It  brightens your face as much as any other tinted moisturizer does.  This is not a miracle product, by any stretch of the imagination, but I will still repurchase it as a basic moisturizer because I like it for that purpose.

I don’t believe this cream rises to the level of a traditional Asian BB cream. Its not going to permanently lighten your skin or treat it beyond what a basic moisturizer would.  It is oil free and does not make my skin as oily as the Garnier BB cream does.  I think this is a better choice for people with oily skin.

It retails for around $8.  You can get it at drugstores.  The price will vary slightly depending on where you buy it.

I hope you found this review helpful!

Review: Maybelline Spring 2012 Bouncy Bronzers and Illuminators

Maybelline has launched their Spring 2012 collection. It includes 2 Bouncy Bronzers and 2 Illuminators.

The bronzers come in two colors, Glistening Sun and Sun Glow. I did not like the Bouncy Bronzers. They have a little shimmer, which I didn’t find bothersome, but what I didn’t like about them was that both of them had a strong orange undertone. Not flattering!! Bronzers should look natural. I love the “bouncy” formula as far as texture. The bronzers are not long wearing. Just like the bouncy blushes, they have about a 4 hour wear.

The Illuminators are really good for a drugstore formula. They come in Ray of Gold (yellow) and Blissful Pink (pink)  They are not as finely milled as a high end highlighter.  They are a little chunky and they have some micro glitter.  The yellow one looked flat out yellow on my skin.  It is not a golden color.  The pink one has a really pretty hue to it.  I liked it. If you don’t want to put a lot of money into an illuminator, this is your product.  They run around $9.

So, what do you think?  Have you picked them up and if so, what are your thoughts. If not, are you going to add these to your collection?  I’d love to know!!

Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush

I picked up some of Maybelline’s new Dream Bouncy Blushes! I’m in love. I like cream blushes, but this one is just fun! Its spongy like memory foam. Don’t get the lighter colors if you want it to show up. They appear more pigmented in the pan than they do on the face. Keep that in mind! Here is my video reviewing the three shades I got in “Peach Satin”, “Hot Tamale” and “Candy Coral”. Hot Tamale is my favorite!! Have you picked up any? What are your thoughts!
