Tarte Awakening Cheek Stain Review and Swatches

I’m a fan of Tarte’s cheek stains and their newest addition, Awakening, does not disappoint!

“The stain that started it all. Tarte’s award-winning and best-selling cheek stain gives you a gorgeous, natural flush” (Quote taken from Tarte’s website)

Dupe: Tarte Airbrush Finish Bamboo Foundation Brush

I love Tarte’s Airbrush Finish Bamboo Foundation Brush, but I don’t love the price. At $32, its kind of steep, but I got it with the foundation in a deal on QVC so it wasn’t so bad.

The dupe is very affordable. It is the Eco Tools Bamboo Bronzer brush. Its slightly smaller in width than Tarte’s brush, but it preforms the same. I love the both! The Eco Tools brush is $12.49 at Ulta and if you catch the right sale you can get the Eco Tools brushes buy one, get one 1/2 off. That deal is going on as I type, by the way!

MY Thoughts: Tarte Cheek Stain and Benefit Stains

I like both Tarte and Benefit Cheek Stains, but when it comes to ease of use and removal, I have to go with Tarte.

Have you tried them? Which do you think is the better product?

Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Full Coverage Foundation

I found the Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Full Coverage Foundation to be buildable with a light weight feel, providing medium to full coverage depending upon how much you layer. Its very blendable and looks lovely on the face. I do recommend the foundation. It is long lasting and did not oxidize on my skin. It has an SPF 15 and is marketed as a “smart foundation”, adjusting to your skin type due to the Amazonian Clay. It retails for $38 for 1.7 oz of product. You can purchase it wherever Tarte products are sold including Ulta, Sephora, and QVC.

The Tarte Airbrush Finish Bamboo Foundation Brush is fluffy and soft. It really does make the foundation go on smoothly. It costs $32 and can also be purchased where ever Tarte products are sold.

You can get the foundation and brush together at qvc.com for $34.56 while supplies last:) What a deal!!

Have you tried the foundation or brush? I’d love to hear what you think about it!!!

Review: Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blush in Glisten, New for Spring 2012

Tarte has added four new colors to their Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blush collection for Spring 2012. I picked up the one in Glisten. I think this was the perfect name for this blush as it does provided a glistening effect on your face. Its a shimmery peachy pink. Its beautiful. It has great staying power and will be on your face all day without changing color. I’m a huge fan of the Amazonian Clay Blushes, but I still review each new one that I acquire with as much scrutiny as the first one I got. So far I have not been disappointed. Tarte is doing this one right!!

TARTE AMAZONIAN CLAY FOUNDATION & MARACUJA BLUSH AND GLOW

I picked up two of Tarte’s new releases from their Spring 2012 launch.

I found the Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Full Coverage Foundation to be buildable with a light weight feeling, providing medium to full coverage depending upon how much you layer. You can purchase it wherever Tarte products are sold.

I was not a huge fan of the Maracuja Blush and Glow. I wanted to love it, I really did, but the ratio of blush to luminizer was ridiculous. I got the shade “Candlelight” and the luminizer just did not highlight for my fair NC 20 skin. It did give a pretty glow to the foundation when mixed in with it. The blush is really beautiful. I wish they would sell it in stick form like Nars does with their Multiples. That would be awesome and I would buy them all! Although I love most of Tarte’s products and even love the blush part of the “Blush and Glow”, I cannot recommend this product due to the poor performance of the luminizer. It retails for $32 for 1oz of product. It is a Sephora exclusive. I just don’t love the luminizer as a highlight and at this price point, I think you would do better with Nars.
