Dr. Jart Water Fuse Smart BB Gel Review & Swatches

Dr Jart has released a new BB formula for Spring 2013. Introducing Dr Jart’s Water Fuse Smart BB Gel!

Dr. Jart claims that this formula is “inspired by the memory foam mattress, shape-memory polymers have the ability to return from a deformed state to its original shape. The Water Fuse Smart Gel BB retakes shape once applied to help reduce the appearance of wrinkles and enlarged pores, while also providing flawless coverage. Infused with powerful antiaging and anti-inflammatory ingredients, it brightens the complexion, corrects skintone, and naturally covers blemishes”.

Its a pretty interesting product.  It feels jelly like and bouncy when you put our finger on it.  Its heavier than the other Dr. Jart bb creams, but doesn’t feel caked on your face. Unlike the other formulas, this one comes in a pot instead of a pump.

Even though it doesn’t come in a pump, Dr Jart has tried to make this product more sanitary by adding a little spoon to get the gel out with.

The pot opens sort of weird.  The entire lid fits over the pot of product and screws closed toward the bottom of the pot.

This product comes in two colors.  Light/Medium and Medium/Dark.  I got  Light/Medium and it did adjust to my skin tone, but I can see it being too dark for anyone lighter in skin tone than me.  I’m an NC 20 for reference.

It provides light to medium coverage and is buildable.  I still had to use concealer to hide some of my hyper pigmentation and acne spots.  It did a terrible job when I applied it with my fingers.  However, when I applied it with a brush it did a good job.  It hid the pores on my nose very well, but I could still see them a little on my cheeks. It did not accentuate my fine lines.  I was unable to wear this product for very long because it made my face itch.  Besides that, the finish was pretty and it did even out my skintone and make it look healthy.

BB Gel on the right side of your screen, nothing on the left side of your screen

BB Gel on entire face.

I wish I could wear this product, but I’ll have to go back to their bb cream since the gel makes me itch.

This product retails for $36 for a 1oz jar.  You can get it at Sephora.
