Flower Beauty Collection Lip Service Lip Butter Review and Swatches

Drew Barrymore’s Flower Beauty Collection has a few different types of lipsticks, one of which is the Lip Service Lip Butter collection. I picked up the one called Princess & the Peony (LB4).

Flower Beauty claims the lip butters are:

  • Buttery-like texture glides on easily, leaving lips looking smooth and full
  • Rich texture provides an optical plumping effect
  • High percentage of emollient oil for a super-smooth, shiny finish
  • Non-Tacky Superior Shine

I found this lip butter to be non tacky/sticky and have a beautiful shine, which sadly only last for a short time.  If you want the shine to last for more than an hour you will have to reapply.  Otherwise, you will still have the color, but your shine will be diminished. I didn’t notice a plumping effect.  It does have a butter texture.

This is a sheer formula.  I’m assuming that its sheer across the line, but of course I only had this one color to draw conclusions from.  It doesn’t pack as much of a color punch as the Revlon Lip Butters do. Its closer to the same amount of pigmentation that the new Maybelline Color Whispers have.

As you can see, Princess & the Peony is a sheer medium pink shade.  Its very pretty!

It has an average wear time on me, about 2 to 3 hours, depending upon how much I eat or drink during that time.  It is moisturizing, but not overly so.  I’m sure its supposed to smell like a flower, but I detect a note of cinnamon.  That does not bother me and its not unpleasant in the least, but its something that  wanted you to be aware of.

I think the packaging is pretty, but a little bulky.

The Lip Butters are available in 9 shades.  They are a Walmart exclusive and retail for $6.98.  You can get your Flower Cosmetics Lip Butter here!
