Simple Vital Vitamin Night Cream: A Review

Simple Vital Vitamin Night Cream comes in a white plastic pot with a green plastic lid. It has pro-vitamin 5 and vitamin E, glycerine, borage oil and bisabolol. It has no dyes, artificial perfumes or harsh irritants, according to the Simple website.

Simple’s website claims “Our Moisturizing Facial Wash leaves your skin thoroughly cleansed and nourished, plus it’s a perfect blend of our purest possible skin loving ingredients with added vitamins.”

The ingredients are not as “simple” as you would think they should be.  Here is the cream’s ingredient list: Water (Aqua, Eau), PEG-8 Beeswax, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Glycerin, Squalane, Cetyl Palmitate, Dimethicone, Panthenol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Bisabolol, Borago Officinalis Seed Oil, Allantoin, Carbomer, Pentylene Glycol, Lactic Acid, Sodium Lactate, Serine, 2-Bromo-2-Nitropropane-1,3-Diol, Sorbitol, Sodium Chloride, Urea, Disodium EDTA, Methylparaben, Propylparaben

This cream has a heavy nondescript soapy scent and is white in color.  It is “springy” when you touch it.  A little goes a long way.  When I put it on my face it spread all around, but I had to work to get it to sink into my skin.  Its was like it just sat on top of my skin until I massaged and massaged to get it in. It takes 2 applications for me to feel as moisturized as I feel with other night creams.  It leaves a sticky feeling on my face that lasts for hours, but it is gone by morning, probably into my pillow.

I’m not crazy about this cream.  It might be good for teens starting out with their skincare routines, but its not heavy enough, in my opinion, to be a night cream for anyone who needs a lot of moisture renewal to fight aging or excessive dryness.  Its more of a consistency that I would expect from a day cream. I will not repurchase this item for these reasons.
