Stila Stay All Day 3D Wet To Set Eyeshadow Trio Review and Swatches

I was so excited when I saw that Stila had released new eyeshadow trios.  I’m a fan of Stila shadows so I jumped right on board.

Stila released 5 trios. I picked up the set in Skyline.  The shadows are so pretty to look at.  They have raised squares on them giving them  the 3D look.  They are supposed to be long wearing and pigmented.

Here is a dry swatch of the shadows.  These are supposed to be water activated so I don’t expect a whole lot from a dry swatch.

Here are the swatches of the shadows wet.  Its very disappointing 🙁

Stila suggests that you wet your brush and swirl it into the product to create a cream like consistency and then sweep it onto your lid.  You are then supposed to let it dry and layer it, letting it dry between each layer, to reach your desired look.

I don’t know about you, but I don’t have that much time in my day.  I used these shadows wet, but they did not want to transfer onto my eyelids very well.   The pigmentation was poor, at best, when applied the lid.  The darker shade was hard to blend. The staying time was ok, but I wouldn’t describe it as “long wearing”, unless you consider 8 hours to be long wearing.

Overall I do not like this formula and won’t be repurchasing another shade. It did little more for me than just slapping some eyeliner on and going sans eyeshadow.  Have you tried them?  If so, what do you think?
