Maybelline’s new color tattoos have landed. The new collection is matte and is dubbed “Leather Color Tattoos”. They are releasing these as part of their Fall 2014 collection.
They come in 5 colors including Chocolate Suede, Dramatic Black, Vintage Plum, Deep Forest and Creamy Beige.
Im not sure as to whether or not these will be part of the permanent Maybelline Color Tattoo line. There is no indication on the packaging to make one think that these are limited edition items so hopefully they are part of the permanent line!! You can get them now here.

Can you believe that we are half way through 2014? I can’t, its totally unbelievable to me. I already dread Fall. Speaking of Fall, I saw a Maybelline Fall 2013 display today at Rite Aid. That’s right, you heard me! I said 2013. That’s a “What the Heck” for ya!
It seems like everyone is stepping up their drugstore game for Spring 2014. Maybelline is no exception. I’ve ran into some displays at my local Meijer, Ulta and Rite Aid stores. Check it out!
Maybelline has released 6 shades of MasterGlaze cream blush sticks so far that I have seen. They are also releasing Master Hi-Light light boosting blushes and bronzers. I saw 4 blushes and 2 bronzers in the line.
New Color Show nail polish displays are appearing as well.
So, I was browsing in Ulta and I ran upon some of Almay’s new offerings for Spring 2014. I love this time of year because I’m always excited to see what is being brought to the drugstore market.
The first thing that I ran into was a new eyeshadow formula called “Shadow Softies”. It feels like sort of a mix between the texture of Maybelline’s bouncy blushes and a regular powder. Its not cream, but its not powder. Its different for sure. I wish I had a better way to describe it. I was surprised that they provided a tester of one of the colors, which I appreciate. I think drugstore products would do themselves a huge favor by providing more testers. They would get less waste from people swatching salable items.
They are retailing at Ulta for $4.99 each, but you know how drugstore pricing goes, they may cost more or less depending upon where you buy them.
The “Shadow Softies” are not the only new thing on Almay’s release list. I also saw an “Almay Smart Shade” display. It has “Smart Shade CC Luminous Primer”, “Smart Shade Anti Aging Moisturizing Makeup”, “Smart Shade Moisturizing Makeup (Original formula)” and a new concealer with 2 different colors in each package. It appears to work for undereyes and face, but I didn’t pick any up so I can’t say that with 100% certainty.
So what do you think? Have you seen these or any other new offerings from Almay? Let me know:)
I was in Rite Aid the other day and what do I see on the shelf but Maybelline’s “On the Runway” release for fall 2013. There were three displays, one with lipglosses only, one with nail polish only and the other with nail polish, eyeshadow quads and lipsticks.
I’ve got some exciting news girlies!!!! If you have been watching my videos you know that I have a love/hate relationship with Nars Hollywood eyeshadow pencil. It made my “August Favorites and What the Heck” video. If you missed it here it is:
Anyway, I love Nars in general, but I hate their Soft Touch Eyeshadow Pencil formula. The colors are gorgeous, especially Hollywood, which is a golden champagne color. However, the darn thing will not stay! It creases before it ultimately disappears, all within an hour of application. I tried everything, absolutely everything I could think of, to make the shadow pencil work for me. I used it with Nars primer, I topped it with powder eyeshadow, I put it over powder and finally I had some success putting it over wet mineral eyeshadow and topping it with Urban Decay’s All Nighter Spray. That’s a lot of work for a $24 eyeshadow pencil. Understandably I was on the hunt for a dupe and, I’m happy to report, I found one!!!
Introducing Rimmel London ScandalEyes Eyeshadow Stick in Bulletproof Beige. Its a dead ringer for Nars Hollywood eyeshadow pencil. Take a look at the swatches.
