It Cosmetics CC Cream Review and Demo

So you all know that I just discovered It Cosmetics. Apparently I have been living under a rock because I’m loving what I’m seeing!!!  How could this brand have flown under my radar for so long????

I tried the It Cosmetics CC as a sample and immediately had to go get myself a full size version.  I am an NC 20 in Mac and the “Light” shade of the It Cosmetics CC Cream was the perfect shade for me.  The finish is gorgeous, the coverage is amazing and I’m in love.

Almay’s New Offerings for Spring 2014 Are Hitting Stores

So, I was browsing in Ulta and I ran upon some of Almay’s new offerings for Spring 2014.  I love this time of year because I’m always excited to see what is being brought to the drugstore market.

The first thing that I ran into was a new eyeshadow formula called “Shadow Softies”.  It feels like sort of a mix between the texture of Maybelline’s bouncy blushes and a regular powder. Its not cream, but its not powder. Its different for sure. I wish I had a better way to describe it. I was surprised that they provided a tester of one of the colors, which I appreciate. I think drugstore products would do themselves a huge favor by providing more testers. They would get less waste from people swatching salable items.

They are retailing at Ulta for $4.99 each, but you know how drugstore pricing goes, they may cost more or less depending upon where you buy them.

The “Shadow Softies” are not the only new thing on Almay’s release list. I also saw an “Almay Smart Shade” display. It has “Smart Shade CC Luminous Primer”, “Smart Shade Anti Aging Moisturizing Makeup”, “Smart Shade Moisturizing Makeup (Original formula)” and a new concealer with 2 different colors in each package. It appears to work for undereyes and face, but I didn’t pick any up so I can’t say that with 100% certainty.

So what do you think? Have you seen these or any other new offerings from Almay? Let me know:)

Dupe: Tarte Airbrush Finish Bamboo Foundation Brush

I love Tarte’s Airbrush Finish Bamboo Foundation Brush, but I don’t love the price. At $32, its kind of steep, but I got it with the foundation in a deal on QVC so it wasn’t so bad.

The dupe is very affordable. It is the Eco Tools Bamboo Bronzer brush. Its slightly smaller in width than Tarte’s brush, but it preforms the same. I love the both! The Eco Tools brush is $12.49 at Ulta and if you catch the right sale you can get the Eco Tools brushes buy one, get one 1/2 off. That deal is going on as I type, by the way!

Review: Laura Mercier Mineral Foundation Powder

Hi guys.  Thanks for stopping by.  I had a request for a review on the Laura Mercier Pressed Powder Mineral Foundation.  It has a matte finish, as opposed to the Laura Mercier Loose Powder Mineral Foundation, which has more of a subtle glow to it.  They are both very pretty with buildable coverage.  The thing that sold me on the pressed, versus the loose powder was packaging.  Its easy to throw the pressed in my bag and go.  Its very travel friendly.  Both the loose and the pressed are lovely though.

Another thing that I like about this powder is that it doesn’t sting or itch my face.  For whatever reason, Bare Minerals irritates me to no end.  I can’t stand it and feel absolutely miserable due to the itching and stinging when I’m wearing it.  If you like the concept of mineral makeup, but  Bare Minerals irritates your skin, you might give the Laura Mercier a try.

Have you tried the pressed or loose powder?  If so, what was your experience with it?  I’d love to know.

Butter London Nail Foundation Flawless Basecoat

I have found a new nail basecoat love!  Its Butter London Nail Foundation Flawless Basecoat.  I never thought to try it until I got a nude Butter nail polish called Hen Party.  It didn’t look so good the first time I put it on.  Before taking it back I decided to give it one more try with Butter London’s Nail Foundation.  I’m so glad I did.  Hen Party is now my new favorite nude nail polish and the Nail Foundation  makes any polish, especially nudes, look great.  It fills in imperfections and you can even wear it alone  for a matte nude look.  It also makes my manicure last longer! I’m a pretty happy camper right now!

Butter London’s Nail Foundation retails for $18.  I got mine at Ulta, but you can also buy it online at ulta.com or at butterlondon.com .

Have you tried it?  I’d love to hear what you think!

Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Full Coverage Foundation

I found the Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Full Coverage Foundation to be buildable with a light weight feel, providing medium to full coverage depending upon how much you layer. Its very blendable and looks lovely on the face. I do recommend the foundation. It is long lasting and did not oxidize on my skin. It has an SPF 15 and is marketed as a “smart foundation”, adjusting to your skin type due to the Amazonian Clay. It retails for $38 for 1.7 oz of product. You can purchase it wherever Tarte products are sold including Ulta, Sephora, and QVC.

The Tarte Airbrush Finish Bamboo Foundation Brush is fluffy and soft. It really does make the foundation go on smoothly. It costs $32 and can also be purchased where ever Tarte products are sold.

You can get the foundation and brush together at qvc.com for $34.56 while supplies last:) What a deal!!

Have you tried the foundation or brush? I’d love to hear what you think about it!!!
