Elizabeth Arden Rose Illumination Highlighter Review

I’m loving rose gold anything lately. I like it in eyeshadow, jewelry, nail polish and, most recently, I love it as a highlighter.

My friend Prissy, from prissyandpink raved about the Elizabeth Arden Rose Illumination Highlighter. She said that it was gorgeous and that I needed it! In proper fashion I went out and purchased one for myself…and boy was she right! Its gorgeous.

The packaging is a shiny, rose gold compact with a generous mirror. It doesn’t look like much in the pan, just sort of pinkish, but swatch it and it comes to life! It catches the light “just so”. There is something about it. It just illuminates everything it touches, namely my cheek bones, nose and once in a while my brow bone and inner corner if I’m feeling frisky that day.

It is a limited edition product so get to your Elizabeth Arden counters right away if you want one. Its such a fabulous product that maybe they will bring it back. It needs to be permanent, it really does!! Thanks Prissy, as always you were spot on!!

OPI Spiderman Mini Nail Polish

Have you seen the OPI Spiderman Nail laquers? There were two colors that I really, really wanted from the collection. They were “Into the Night” and “Your Web or Mine?”. I planned on picking both of these up at $8.50 a pop, but I found this mini set for around $12 at Ulta that had those two colors in it so I thought that was a deal!

“Into the Night” is a shimmery, almost navy blue with a purple undertone. Its really pretty. This one is my favorite of the bunch. It does apply sheer, though, so you will need 2 to 3 coats to build the color.

“Number One Nemesis” is a shimmery, metallic dirty green. The shimmer gives off a golden cast. Just like “Into the Night”, you will need two or 3 coats to build the color because it is very sheer. It is a lot like Chanel’s Graphite.

“Your Web or Mine” is a rosy pink with a frost finish. I was disappointed in this color:( It was streaky, even after 2 coats. Its such a shame because its such a pretty color.

“Just Spotted the Lizard” is a dirty green with gold duo chrome. It has sort of an antique feel about it. Personally, this is not a color that I gravitate toward. If you liked Chane’s Peridot, you will like this shade.

This is a limited edition shade for Summer 2012.

Sephora + Pantone Shades of Nature Palette and Brush Set

Sephora + Pantone have come out with some more cool stuff. They have released a 5 piece eye brush set and a 35 shade eyeshadow palette. These are limited edition sets

The eye brush palette comes in a sleek, plastic case with five brushes. It is white and has what appears to be a green plant stem on it. The brushes are beautiful. The handles are duo chrome flashing purple and green. The bristles are a cream color topped with a pretty turquoise color. They are natural. The bristles are very soft, but I just can’t get over how pretty they are. I love them!

The eyeshadow palette is very nice too. It comes in a sleek palette that matches the brush set. It is plastic. It comes with 35 colorful shadows that are inspired by shades seen in nature. I was pretty impressed with the palette. Some shades are more pigmented than others and some blend better than others, but overall, its a beautiful palette and I’m glad that I got it. I took the pictures in lines going in columns beginning left to right. I didn’t do the swatches in rows because the rows are staggered and I wanted to make it easier for you to tell exactly what shade you were looking at.

So, are you going to pick up any of these new goodies? I’d love to know!

Victoria’s Secret Limited Edition Deluxe Eyeshadow Palette in Fearless

I picked up the limited edition Victoria’s Secret Deluxe Eyeshadow Palette in Fearless. Its soooo pretty. Its a blue based palette. It has a pretty shimmering champagne color, a shimmering greyish taupey color, a matte teal color, a shimmering blue color and a blackened navy eyeliner.

I love all of the eyeshadows. They blend like a dream and they are gorgeous, if you like shimmering eyeshadows, that is. I like a little shimmer in my life so I’m pretty happy with them. Some people might prefer a matte highlighter shade, but I’m sure you have one in your collection that would work perfectly with this palette. The matte teal shade is a little fussy, but not too bad. All mattes seem to have some blendability issues and I don’t find this one to be any more troublesome to deal with than any other mattes in my collection.

I do not like the eyeliner. It’s consistency is somewhere between a dried out gel liner and a powder. That is the best way I know of to describe it. It is a dull black color and the staying power is very poor, even with a primer.

Even though the eyeliner is a dud, I like the other shades enough to make this palette worth the purchase. You can get it in the store or online at victoriassecret.com . It retails for $20.

Chanel Las Vegas de Chanel Collection Haul & Review

I was in Las Vegas when the Chanel Las Vegas de Chanel collection launched. I first went to the Chanel counter at Barney’s New York in the Venitian and they had no idea what I was talking about, but sent me to the Chanel Boutique at the Wynn. By the time I hurried over there, there was only 2 powders and one lipstick left. Sheewwww, a near miss! I think I would have broken down and cried right there if I had gotten there and they had told me they just sold out!

Anyway, I picked up the Lucky Strikes Iridescent Powder for Eyes and Cheeks which is soooo gorgeous (and crazy expensive at $95). It is shades of sand and gold and you can use it as a highlighter on your face and eyes and also as an eyeshadow. It blends like a dream and looks amazing. I’m in love! See swatches below:)

I also picked up the Rouge Coco Shine lipstick in Brilliant. The name nails the way it looks. It is a sheer golden glaze and it is brilliant. I suggest that you use it over a lip liner or lipstick to give it a golden sheen. You could also use it on its own if you have pigmented lips, but I won’t be using it that way. Its very unique and I don’t have anything else like it in my collection. I like the Rouge Coco Shine formula. (see swatches below)

There was also a gold nail polish and a gold lip liner that I did not pick up. I can’t imagine using a gold lip liner and I didn’t find the nail polish to be especially unique, although it was very pretty.

The Exclusive Creation Las Vegas de Chanel products are available for a limited time at the Chanel boutiques at the Bellagio Hotel and Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas and also on chanel.com. You can call 1.800.550.0005 to check availability.
