I just tried my first Laura Mercier Lip Glacé and I must say that I like it! The packaging is pretty, the formula, although a little sticky, is not too sticky and it smells divine, like spun sugar. YUM!
Fresh Sugar Lip Treatments are wonderful. I especially enjoy their tinted lip treatments as they give a hint of color that looks glossy and brings your face to life. Some days I need the extra help, especially when I’m going sans makeup for a quick run to the store or gym. They also have an SPF 15, which isn’t as high as I would like, but hey, for a quick trip that is going to expose me to the sun while driving and running in and out of a store its probably enough.
The compact is gorgeous, isn’t it???
Hard Candy has released several new products to their line. One is the “All Glossed Up Hydrating Lip Stain”.
Its no secret that I’m in love with Buxom’s Kanani lipgloss. Its a beautiful, bright pink. I Love It!!
I picked up Hibis-kiss, a lipgloss from Drew Barrymore’s new makeup collection at Walmart called Flower Cosmetics. It looked a whole lot like my beloved Kanani so I could not wait to swatch it. I’m excited to report that they are almost identical!!! Woohoo.

I picked up three of the new Drew Barrymore Flower Collection Shine On Lip Glosses in Hibis-Kiss (LG5), What a Dai-sy (LG1) and Baby’s Breath (LG2).
What a Dai-sy!, Baby’s Breath, and Hibis-kiss
After a year of trying this and that from the drugstore I am ready to render my opinions on the Best of Beauty 2012: Drugstore Edition! Drugstore makeup has really stepped it up. There were some very exciting releases and some long time favorites as well. Check out what I found to be the best in drugstore beauty!!

I was tagged to do the “What Lip Products Are In Your Handbag?” tag. Of course I love a good tag so I grabbed my little cosmetic bag out of my purse and here is what I found!
What lip products are in your handbag?
I purchased these items myself and as always these are my own, honest opinions.
I had heard a lot about the YSL Rouge Pur Couture Vernis à Lèvres Glossy Stains so I had to give them a try. I was pleasantly surprised.
They feel like velvet when you put them on. Its a really interesting sensation. They smell and taste a little like champagne or white wine. Its a very subtle alcohol note and I can’t quite put my finger on which one it is. I guess if had to choose I would say its closer to champagne. The wear is great. It is a stain, but it will still transfer to glasses and things like that. The color holds for quite a while, but the glossiness goes away after a couple of hours. You can reapply it (that’s what I do) or you can add a clear gloss when the shine wears off.
As you see in the video, the color that I tried was very dark. I have pigmented lips so I was too skeptical to try the light shades. The dark one worked well though!!
Have you tried these? Please let me know, especially if you have tried the lighter colors!!

I’m starting my journey into the YSL brand. I first started off with the lipstain (review to come.. short and sweet of it is that I like them:) I also picked up two of the Golden Glosses to try.
Here is what YSL says about them:
“Worth its weight in gold, this gorgeous gloss dresses lips in a sophisticated, high-shine shimmer that’s truly precious. Sparkling 24 carat gold flecks (0.2%) create a mirror-like effect for guaranteed glamour, while a complex of nourishing oils protect and hydrate for optimal comfort. Scented with a subtle hint of Mango that’s utterly irresistible.”
The glosses are beautiful to look at. They are not sticky and they shine like no bodies business! They have decent staying power too. If they had a different smell and taste I would be in super love. Sadly, they are a mango, watermelon with a hint of number 2 pencil lead flavor:( I hate the smell and taste. Why do we need everything to have a taste? Despite YSL’s claim, I can resist! I don’t get it. The worst part is that these glosses have such a strong flavor and scent that it changes the taste of your food if you eat with them on. Yucky Poo!
If I could stand the scent I would purchase them again, but sadly, I just don’t like it. I can’t deal! I’m going to wear the two I have, but no more, not unless they change the scent. Hint Hint to YSL if you are reading this, I will buy a ton of these babies if you will change the scent, please!!!
These glosses retail for $30. I got mine at Sephora and Nordstrom. You can also get them at sephora.com, nordstrom.com, yslbeautyus.com and anywhere YSL is sold.
I purchased these products and was not compensated for this review. As always, these are my own, honest opinions.
