Can you believe that we are half way through 2014? I can’t, its totally unbelievable to me. I already dread Fall. Speaking of Fall, I saw a Maybelline Fall 2013 display today at Rite Aid. That’s right, you heard me! I said 2013. That’s a “What the Heck” for ya!
L’Oreal has really shocked me, in a good way, with one of their new releases. Its the L’Oreal Color Caresse Wet Shine Stain. I was at Ulta and was very intrigued when I saw the new display. I grabbed 2 colors to give it a try.
I had heard a lot about the YSL Rouge Pur Couture Vernis à Lèvres Glossy Stains so I had to give them a try. I was pleasantly surprised.
They feel like velvet when you put them on. Its a really interesting sensation. They smell and taste a little like champagne or white wine. Its a very subtle alcohol note and I can’t quite put my finger on which one it is. I guess if had to choose I would say its closer to champagne. The wear is great. It is a stain, but it will still transfer to glasses and things like that. The color holds for quite a while, but the glossiness goes away after a couple of hours. You can reapply it (that’s what I do) or you can add a clear gloss when the shine wears off.
As you see in the video, the color that I tried was very dark. I have pigmented lips so I was too skeptical to try the light shades. The dark one worked well though!!
Have you tried these? Please let me know, especially if you have tried the lighter colors!!
I purchased these products myself and as always these are my own, honest opinions.
Its finally here, Mac By Request. Mac allowed its customers to vote on what products they wanted brought back from previous collections. In the end, 3 lipsticks, 3 lipglasses and 3 eyeshadows were brought back. Here is what I picked up!
I purchased these products with my own money and as always, these are my own honest opinions.
Benefit has added a new gloss to match their best selling boxed blushes. I just love the blushes so, of course, I had to try their namesakes’ matching glosses. Check it out!
The glosses come in squeeze tubes. They are decorated to match their coordinating blush. They all have a cherry sent with a slight cherry flavor. They are slick glosses and have a little stick, but not much at all.
Bella Bomba is a gorgeous rosey red, Coralista is a beautiful hot coral color, Dandelion is a shimmery peach shade, SugarBomb is a mauve shade with shimmer and Dallas is a gorgeous nude. They are all beautiful! Hula is also available.
I purchased these from HSN, but I saw the full sized glosses in Ulta the other day. They retail for $16 each and the travel set retails for $26. A full sized gloss is .05 oz and the travel glosses are.22 ozs each. You can order the full size glosses from www.benefit.com, www.ulta.com, www.sephora.com and www.hsn.com. You can also purchase them at Ulta and Sephora stores.

I have bought my first and last Prestige product. After this lipstick experience, I’m not even interested in giving anything else a go. Perhaps they will reformulate their product in the future and, if it gets a good review, I might give the brand another chance. Right now I’m just disgusted with the experience. Not good at all!
This was a waste of money, as you will see in the video. Pigmentation, consistency and smell were all horrible. The packaging is pretty. I would give this an F- (if there is such as thing as an F-. LOL). Its just terrible!!!
Have you tried any Prestige products? If so, what were your experiences? I’d love to know.

Hard Candy Cosmetics used to be a high end brand. Now is found only at Walmart. Some people say that the product is not as good as its once was since it was reformulate to be a lower end brand. This is probably true, but there are still some really awesome products that I think you might want to take a look at.
I like their baked eyeshadow duos. They are bendable with good pigmentation. The duo colors complement each other nicely. I’m a big fan.
As for their bronzers, have only tried two, Tiki and Tropics. They are both shimmery. In my opinion they both perform better as highlighters, but you could use them for an all over glow. Tropics has gold shimmer and Tiki is more of a campaign highlight. They are both finely milled. Great for drugstore highlighters (even though they are marketed as bronzers:)
The baked blushes are really pretty. They are not matte, they have more of a satin finish. A couple of them are shimmery.
Their glosses are really good. I like a little sparkle in my life and they don’t disappoint! They also have glosses without sparkle too, for those of you who like their gloss a little tame. Don’t get the coffee one mentioned in the video though, it smells like Compound W. Gross!
I’m also not a fan of the 10000 Lashes mascara that I tried. It was very dry and did not want to transfer onto my lashes:( Perhaps it was a bad tube, but we will never know because I’m not buying another one to find out.
Have you tried any Hard Candy products? What did you think?
All items were purchased by me. I was not paid to mention or review these items.
