NYX Color Lip Balm

I picked up a couple of NYX Color Lip Balms and wanted to let you know what I think about them. They are what they say they are, a lip balm. Nothing special about these babies except for the color selection, which is a pretty wide range. They will protect you against wind and give you a little tint to your lips. It will not protect you against sunburn since it does not have an SPF:( That is enough to kill it for me. What do you think?

Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush

I picked up some of Maybelline’s new Dream Bouncy Blushes! I’m in love. I like cream blushes, but this one is just fun! Its spongy like memory foam. Don’t get the lighter colors if you want it to show up. They appear more pigmented in the pan than they do on the face. Keep that in mind! Here is my video reviewing the three shades I got in “Peach Satin”, “Hot Tamale” and “Candy Coral”. Hot Tamale is my favorite!! Have you picked up any? What are your thoughts!

Mac Spring 2012 Launches: Cook, Shop and Vera!

I’m pretty happy with the things that I picked up from Mac’s Spring Launches. I picked up “Innocence Beware!” Lipstick and “Dish it up” Lipstick from the Mac Shop Collection. From the Cook collection I grabbed two fluidlines in “Wholesome” and “Added Goodness” Finally from the Mac Vera Collection I got the Pearlmatte Face Powder in “Flower Fantasy” and a Plushglass in “On A Holiday” They were all hits with me:) Did you haul anything from the Cook, Shop or Vera Collections? If so, let me know what you got and what you think of it!

Stila “In The Garden” Palette

Stila has released two palettes for Spring 2012. My favorite is “In The Garden”. It comes in a pretty light green palette. When you look at the colors, the first thing that goes through your mind is “green”. Its a happy palette:) It comes with a smudge stick in Starfish. Its such a pretty eyeliner! Swatches are in the video. This is one of my favorite Spring offerings from any brand!

NYX Cream Eyeshadow : Spring 2012

For Spring 2012 NYX launched a cream eyeshadow line.  Now, I am a huge fan of most NYX products.  This one….not so much!  Its bad, really bad.  Its patchy and the Frost Beige shade made me look like I had a serious issue going on on my eyelids. Were talking about bad.  It looked like I had little skin flakes all over my eyelid.  I tried different bases, I tried no base, there is no amount of work that can make these little suckers work.  If you haven’t tried other NYX products, don’t discount the others because of this one.  Their powder shadows are great, but they missed the mark here:(  Have you tried them?  What do you think?

Chanel Spring Collection 2012

I love Chanel, who doesn’t?  Anyway, I picked up some things from their Spring collection and I’m super excited to share them with you!  I got Chanel Eyeliner in Taupe #84, which is the most beautiful taupe eyeliner I’ve ever seen.  Its totally gorgeous and a must have!!!  I also picked up the Chanel Eyeshadow Quad in Eclosion #34.  Its such a pretty spring palette, although one shade is a little chalky and had some fallout.  The other four are a dream, I love them and do recommend the quad.  The last thing I picked up was Blush Horizon de Chanel # 4305.  Its so pretty in the pan.  It has stripes of peach and pink with a little white and berry mixed in.  When blended all together you get a gorgeous peachy pink.  You can go more pink or more peach if like, just from the way the colors are laid out in the pan.  Its a dream:)  All the items are shown and detailed in the video.  Enjoy!

Did you get anything from the Spring Collection?  Do tell!!!

Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream Review

I was so excited to get a sample of Smashbox’s new Camera Ready BB Cream.  I like BB creams, but was disappointed that this one didn’t have a treatment element to it:(  Other than that, it is a nice cream, more coverage than a tinted moisturizer, less than a foundation.  Its a happy medium.  It has an SPF 35.  It is hydrating and I do believe it could work as a primer for foundation, although I only used the product alone as I wanted to test out its oil controlling properties.  I have an oily T-zone and my forehead was shiny after a few hours, long before 8 hours.  To be fair they promise oil control “up to 8 hours”, which generally means somewhere less than 8 hours. I won’t be purchasing a full size, but if you aren’t worried about anti-aging properties this is a good cream, but for me, if it doesn’t treat, I’m not interested at this price point.

This BB cream is available at Sephora and is $39 for 1 oz.

Have you tried Smashbox’s BB cream?  What are your thoughts?

TARTE AMAZONIAN CLAY FOUNDATION & MARACUJA BLUSH AND GLOW

I picked up two of Tarte’s new releases from their Spring 2012 launch.

I found the Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Full Coverage Foundation to be buildable with a light weight feeling, providing medium to full coverage depending upon how much you layer. Its very blendable and looks lovely on the face. I do recommend the foundation. It is long lasting and did not oxidize on my skin. It has an SPF 15 and is marketed as a “smart foundation”, adjusting to your skin type due to the Amazonian Clay. It retails for $38 for 1.7 oz of product. You can purchase it wherever Tarte products are sold.

I was not a huge fan of the Maracuja Blush and Glow. I wanted to love it, I really did, but the ratio of blush to luminizer was ridiculous. I got the shade “Candlelight” and the luminizer just did not highlight for my fair NC 20 skin. It did give a pretty glow to the foundation when mixed in with it. The blush is really beautiful. I wish they would sell it in stick form like Nars does with their Multiples. That would be awesome and I would buy them all! Although I love most of Tarte’s products and even love the blush part of the “Blush and Glow”, I cannot recommend this product due to the poor performance of the luminizer. It retails for $32 for 1oz of product. It is a Sephora exclusive. I just don’t love the luminizer as a highlight and at this price point, I think you would do better with Nars.
